Zentex é Jari Marjamäki. Carreira demasiado longa para ser reduzida a neologismos do momento, discos editados da Europa nórdica à mediterrânica, curriculum vasto onde a música atmosférica é um ponto de partida para a música de dança ou vice-versa. Única constante: a relação íntima que sempre manteve com as suas máquinas. Kajastus EP, o 12” que produziu para a ZABRA RECORDS, é testemunho dessa relação. As 3 faixas do disco (mais a faixa bónus na edição digital) relembram-nos que há uma matriz mais ou menos elementar que já está pré-contida nos sinais e nos circuitos maquínicos: a regularidade, a repetição, a mecânica do fantasma na máquina. É aí que a mão de Zentex penetra como sábio intérprete das lógicas abstractas e artificiais que subitamente se tornam sensíveis e pulsantes sempre que são forçadas e testadas, sempre que são contaminadas por elementos que lhe são externos. A sua finura é então a de quem sabe transferir a frieza das máquinas para a sensibilidade do mundo. Depois há resquícios de gospel, postais quase irreconhecíveis de exótica, tropicália já contaminada, num laissez faire, laissez passer norteado pelo dub em forma de beats regulares. Pouco ou nada se inventa aqui. Quase tudo já estava inscrito. Zentex é apenas o fiel mensageiro desse programa.
